La Casa del Migrante is a short documentary I directed, produced, and edited alongside Sam Heller and Olivia Yarvis. It has since premiered at the American Documentary and Animation Film Festival and was nominated for the International Documentary Association's David L. Wolper award.
In a nutshell: Inside the seemingly abandoned property at 3200 South Kedzie Avenue in the South Side of Chicago is La Casa del Migrante, a vibrant, bustling home of Mexican immigrant artists seeking to improve their native and local communities through their craft. This documentary short brings audiences into this community hub as its very existence is threatened after Chicago Southwest Development Corporation bought the property from the city of Chicago and placed an order of demolition on its residents. A story of clashing desires, La Casa del Migrante examines the fragility and sanctity of community spaces amid trends of displacement in the South Side.

In the spring of 2021 I worked as a videographer and journalist in Buenos Aires, Argentina at La Nacion covering topics in human rights and lack of resources in both urban and rural areas of the city. Attached here is one of the videos I recorded and edited.
During the summer of 2020, I worked as a photographer and field reporter in Iceland for Global Treks and Adventures creating a travel guide. I spent three weeks venturing through unmarked back trails and less-known spots of the Western region of the country, tracking the routes with gps and taking pictures of wildlife and natural markers to add to the guide.
